Bending Chip Memory

Electronic memory chips soon will probably be bending likerubber. The results of the engineer's National Institute ofStandards and Technology (NIST), United States, has begun toshow results.

Scientists to find solutions utilizing polymer layer and experimentwith planting membrane thin film of titanium dioxide. The result is a flexible memory that can operate in a voltage of less than 10volts.

The researchers pretty sure this tool can be produced cheaply."Because the components of the tool is made of liquid, then infuture we will be able to produce a tool is as simple as the lowest possible price" says Nadine Gergel-Hackett, NIST researchers.

Although not yet ready for market, components that can bendwithout breaking is so coveted by component makers for several reasons. One of them, bending chip that can be used as medicalsensors implanted under the skin to monitor multiple vital organssuch as heart rate and blood sugar.
